Quick ShopBack FAQ time:
What is ShopBack?
According to ShopBack’s About Us page, ShopBack is a digital loyalty and discovery platform that’s on a mission to create smarter shoppers. It rewards its users with cashback when they shop via its website or app. ShopBack was founded in 2014 and is available in 7 APAC countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and even Taiwan.
Wait, what is cashback?
Cashback, or cash back, refers to when you get back a certain percentage of the money you spend. This is usually a perk offered by credit card companies, but it’s also offered by ShopBack, as well as other reward platforms like Fave.
How does ShopBack work?
ShopBack is a free rewards platform that gives you back a certain percentage of the money you spend when you shop with one of their partner merchants through the ShopBack website or app. Easy peasy.
How to use ShopBack?
Sign up for a ShopBack account and start shopping via its website or app. It’s that easy! ShopBack will track your spending and give you cashback accordingly.
How to get cashback from ShopBack?
Just shop online through the ShopBack website or app. You will get back a certain percentage of money spent, to your ShopBack account. You can then withdraw and receive your cashback in your bank account once you’ve reached the minimum cashout amount of RM10.00.
Where can I shop via ShopBack?
ShopBack Malaysia’s platform offers a bunch of popular online shopping sites, including but not limited to:
- JD Sports
- Lazada app (app only, so you need to shop on Lazada via the ShopBack app)
- Shopee (app only, so you need to shop on Shopee via the ShopBack app)
- and more!
How much cashback can I earn from ShopBack?
It depends on the merchant.
Honestly, the cashback percentage offered by most merchants is usually under 5%, especially if you’re a return customer for the merchant.
But they do sometimes offer higher cashback % during holidays/promotional periods/special seasons.
So time your shopping wisely in order to get the maximum amount of discounts PLUS cashback!
Oh yes, one thing you need to know though…
Your cashback amount gets tracked pretty quick, BUT, you’ll only get it in your ShopBack account after a few months.
Yeah, that’s the only sad thing about this.
No instant gratification. Lol.
It takes so long because the merchant wants to ensure that you didn’t cancel/return/exchange your order.
Fair enough la, right?
Anyway, this isn’t meant to be some quick cash cow thing. It’s just maximising the amount of money you save when you shop.
But it’s okay.
Just be patient.
I was, and I withdrew a total of about RM800 over 4 years.
As the saying goes, sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit.
Hmm, sure can trust one ah? What’s in it for ShopBack?
Believe it or not, ShopBack’s business model has been around for a long time. It’s basically referral/affiliate marketing. They get a commission from their partner merchants when you shop via the ShopBack site/app.
So in conclusion…
Is ShopBack legit? Yes! This startup even raised a ton of money for themselves recently.
